چکیده
Creeping bentgrass ( Agrostis stolonifera ) experiences quality decline during summer in the United States transition zone and warmer regions. Various bioproducts have been used to improve creeping performance mitigate effects of stress zone. This 2-year study was carried out examine if foliar application seaweed extract (SWE; Ascophyllum nodosum )-based biostimulant Utilize ® could enhance nitrate reductase (NaR) activity, root viability under heat drought conditions. The sprayed biweekly on foliage at 0, 29, 58, 87, 116 µL⋅m −2 , with volume 815 L⋅ha . Two weeks after first application, plants were exposed (35/25 °C, day/night) (40% 50% evapotranspiration replacement) conditions for 42 days an environment-controlled growth chamber. In general, abiotic caused turf reduction. Foliar increased quality, leaf color ratings, chlorophyll, carotenoid content, net photosynthetic rate (Pn). NaR activity by 26.5%, 16.3%, respectively, when compared control. biomass, length, surface area (SA), 58 87 improved 16.3% 30.9%, Our data indicate that SWE-based improves nitrogen (N) metabolism viability. treatment can be considered effective approach improving stress.

Metabolic Effects of Acibenzolar-S-Methyl for Improving Heat or Drought Stress in Creeping Bentgrass
Acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) is a synthetic functional analog of salicylic acid which can induce systemic acquired resistance in plants, but its effects on abiotic stress tolerance is not well known. The objectives of this study were to examine effects of acibenzolar-S-methyl on heat or drought tolerance in creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera) and to determine major ASM-responsive metabolite...
متن کاملPlant growth promoting bacteria effects on growth, photosynthetic pigments and root nutrients uptake of Avena sativa L. under drought stress
Drought stress is one of the most important factors affecting plant growth. Plant growth under drought stress may be enhanced by the application of microbial inoculation including plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. This research was conducted as a factorial experiment in a completely randomized design. The first factor included the bio-fertilizer (A. vinelandii (A)), P. agglomerans+ P. ...
متن کاملAscophyllum nodosum Seaweed Extract Alleviates Drought Stress in Arabidopsis by Affecting Photosynthetic Performance and Related Gene Expression
Drought represents one of the most relevant abiotic stress affecting growth and yield of crop plants. In order to improve the agricultural productivity within the limited water and land resources, it is mandatory to increase crop yields in presence of unfavorable environmental stresses. The use of biostimulants, often containing seaweed extracts, represents one of the options for farmers willin...
متن کاملTranscriptome analysis of creeping bentgrass exposed to drought stress and polyamine treatment
Creeping bentgrass is an important cool-season turfgrass species sensitive to drought. Treatment with polyamines (PAs) has been shown to improve drought tolerance; however, the mechanism is not yet fully understood. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate transcriptome changes of creeping bentgrass in response to drought and exogenous spermidine (Spd) application using RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq)....
متن کاملHeat Shock Proteins in Relation to Heat Stress Tolerance of Creeping Bentgrass at Different N Levels
Heat stress is a primary factor causing summer bentgrass decline. Changes in gene expression at the transcriptional and/or translational level are thought to be a fundamental mechanism in plant response to environmental stresses. Heat stress redirects protein synthesis in higher plants and results in stress protein synthesis, particularly heat shock proteins (HSPs). The goal of this work was to...
